Air delivery times from Europe, China and Turkey
How air transit to Kazakhstan from Europe, China and Turkey is usually counted: warehouse to destination airport, plus a day to the door, and where time is typically lost.
How transit time is counted
Air transit is not counted from the invoice date or from when a supplier said the cargo was ready. The reference is from cargo leaving the shipper’s warehouse until release at the destination airport. Door delivery usually adds one more day. Urgent moves, when space is available, are typically 2–3 days on the same clock: warehouse — aircraft — destination airport.
KAZLOGIST handles pickup, export clearance, the air waybill, space with partner airlines, and delivery to the destination airport and consignee. Until cargo leaves the warehouse, the clock does not start. Until space is booked, ready cargo still waits.
Europe
Europe to Kazakhstan is typically 3–5 days to airport release. That window holds when four things are closed together: the cargo is physically ready, documents are checked before departure, dimensions and weight match the booking, and space is confirmed.
- Pickup and export consume time before departure, not inside flying hours.
- Consolidation from several vendors helps cost but delays exit until the lot is complete.
- Oversized and special cargo wait for a suitable aircraft and handling even on the same trade lane.
Procurement is better off locking a warehouse-ready date and a booking date than a vague “it will go this week.”
China and Asia
China and Asia are typically 3–6 days to the destination airport. The spread is wider because of inland pickup, export queues and flight density. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6000; the airline charges the greater of actual and volumetric. Wrong carton data means a refused booking or a last-minute recut.
Agree a packing list by piece, photo report and palletising if the shipment is not a single carton. Warehouse options — consolidation, re-pack — can lower the rate but add a day on assembly. That is a speed-versus-cost choice, not a service failure.
Turkey
There is no separate guaranteed figure for Turkey: lanes overlap Europe and the Middle East. The Middle East reference is 2–4 days, Europe 3–5 days. Plan Turkey in that same window — usually closer to short European and Middle East departures when space exists and export is closed.
Typical losses: a late commercial invoice with HS codes, weight mismatches by piece, cargo that turns out to be DGR. Lithium batteries, aerosols, paints and reagents move under IATA DGR: MSDS/SDS, UN packaging, marks and a shipper’s declaration; some items only on cargo aircraft. Without that, a passenger-flight booking is wasted.
Where days disappear
Time is rarely lost in the air. Check the file before departure: commercial invoice with HS codes, packing list, AWB, contract or supporting invoice, and origin or permit documents when required. KAZLOGIST reviews the set before departure — cheaper than idle time after arrival.
- The supplier is “ready” but cargo is still in production or without export release.
- Dimensions do not fit the booked flight; aircraft type must change.
- Temperature control needs thermocontainers, loggers and priority handling — not the same slots as general cargo.
- The USA, for comparison, is typically 5–8 days: a longer haul, not lighter paperwork.
There is no minimum weight: from 1 kg to large lots, routing, timing and cost are matched. A manager quotes after route, weight, volume, cargo type and urgency; the price includes the per-kilo rate, fuel and security, terminal, AWB and export declaration, pickup and delivery. No ballpark tariffs are given verbally — a calculation follows the request in business hours.
A practical sequence for procurement
Lock pickup address, warehouse-exit date, gross weight and dimensions by piece, and cargo nature (general, DGR, temperature, oversized, high value). State airport release versus door delivery. Legal entities work under contract and bank transfer; private shippers get terms from a manager. Hand-carry and charter are for spare parts and exhibitions when a scheduled flight cannot hit the window.
To receive a shipment calculation, leave the route, weight, dimensions and contacts — a manager will quote the exact cost within an hour during business hours.
